A-STEP

The Accredited Sleep Technologist Education Program (A-STEP) is designed to provide foundational training for individuals pursuing a career in sleep technology. Developed by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM), A-STEP prepares trainees with the essential skills and knowledge needed to work in sleep centers and diagnose sleep disorders. The program consists of online modules and in-person training sessions, covering topics like sleep physiology, polysomnography techniques, and patient care. A-STEP also serves as a stepping stone for obtaining certification, such as the CPSGT or RPSGT. Completion of A-STEP ensures that technologists meet industry standards for competency in sleep medicine.
